Sickle Sense is a mission-driven innovation led by Rivers Charitable Institute (RCI) to give people living with Sickle Cell Disease timely, life-saving insight. Using a privacy-first platform that combines wearable data, patient check-ins, and environmental signals, Sickle Sense analyzes patterns to forecast rising crisis risk and deliver clear, early alerts. Patients gain time to hydrate, medicate, or seek care; families and clinicians get signal—not noise.

 

To accelerate product development and clinical integration, RCI is partnering with Sickle Sense AI, LLC—a for-profit entity focused on engineering, app and device development, regulatory readiness, and scale. RCI leads the mission, community partnerships, and equitable access; Sickle Sense AI delivers the technology and commercialization pathway. Together, we’re building a scalable early-warning system designed to reduce ER visits, improve quality of life, and advance health equity.
